When the slats are closed, the design maintains a continuous appearance. When more than one Designs By Spirit™ is installed as a panorama, the entire design flows smoothly from one window to the next.

The Studio is designed for customizing selections to compliment single windows up to eight window panorama views.

Customers can upload their own photos/files, choose from DBS stock selections, or simply type in what they'd like to view and the Studio expands or reimagines their selection preference to create a customized view in less than a minute.

Customers can also choose from a variety of styles and colorization options, add elements, text and preview their selection in their own windows with our AR options.

Yes. Once you've entered the number of windows you'd like to view, your window as well as space between window measurements, Design A View Studio™ will automatically expand or even reimage your photo/file to compliment your own windows.

You can even add elements, choose styles, custom colorize, add text and then preview your design in your own windows with our AR options.

The exact appearance varies with the design, lighting, viewing distance, window construction, surroundings and time of day. However, with our custom text options you can reverse the text for exterior reading and also reverse the design with our AR options.

No. However, the Installation Help page links to independent third-party directories. Customers should verify an installer's experience, insurance, qualifications, pricing and compatibility with the specific project.

Approved dealers and design professionals will use a separate secured Professional Network portal. The public website will connect to that portal without storing dealer records, private pricing, quotes, orders or administrative controls.

The Roller Shade Studio is organized around three customer-friendly fabric categories: Translucent / Light Filtering, Solar Screen, and Blackout.

Sunrise Translucent · Snow White is the currently supplier-confirmed printed launch candidate. Solar Screen 3%, Solar Screen 5%, and the light-base Blackout option remain planning choices until Insolroll confirms the final printable SKUs, colors, and fabric-specific limits.

Translucent / Light Filtering is the best starting point for most photographic and decorative artwork. It softens natural light, provides privacy without intentional direct view-through, and can give the printed design a bright, luminous appearance.

Translucent softens daylight and provides privacy while still allowing light into the room. Solar Screen is intended to preserve some outward view while reducing glare and solar gain. Blackout is intended for maximum privacy and room darkening.

The exact appearance of printed Solar Screen and Blackout fabrics will be finalized after supplier-confirmed printable SKUs are selected.

No. Soft Frost is a printed visual treatment in the artwork, similar to a solid color or gradient. It does not change the actual fabric's light-filtering, openness, or blackout performance.

That depends on the fabric. A Solar Screen is intended to preserve some outward visibility, while Translucent and Blackout fabrics are not intended to provide a clear direct view through the shade.

Printing, lighting, openness, and whether you are viewing from the brighter or darker side can all affect the finished appearance.

Not exactly. Your screen is backlit, while the finished artwork is printed on fabric and viewed under real room and window light. Fabric texture, daylight, tinted glass, screens, ink treatment, and room lighting can all affect color and contrast.

The Studio is designed to give you a useful visual comparison, but the approved proof and physical material govern production.

You can design from one to eight shades in one measured arrangement. For multiple windows, one continuous artwork can span the complete group so the scene does not restart at each shade.

Enter each finished shade width and height to the nearest 1/8 inch and enter every required space between adjacent windows. The Studio uses those measurements to build the room preview, calculate the continuous artwork layout, and prepare the working production geometry.

An inside mount places the shade within the window opening, while an outside mount places it over or around the opening. The Studio shows both options visually.

Final deductions, minimum recess, and hardware clearances must come from the selected supplier system and are confirmed during production review.

The current Insolroll outer maximums are 144 inches wide by 84 inches high for Manual / continuous-loop chain, 168 inches wide by 96 inches high for Battery Motorized, and 198 inches wide by 96 inches high for Hardwired Motorized.

Final orderability can still be reduced by the selected fabric, hardware, top treatment, or other supplier rules.

Yes. The current Studio includes Manual, Battery Motorized, and Hardwired Motorized choices. The selected operator affects the current maximum finished size and is recorded with the design for production review.

The current production profile flags work around the supplier's approximately 126-inch material-width threshold for special seam or railroad review.

A wide shade is not automatically rejected, but the supplier may need to confirm a different material orientation or a seam treatment that could create a visible line through the artwork.

Yes. The Studio is built to keep one continuous artwork across multiple shades and the spaces between them. Insolroll supports multi-shade murals, but the final mural surcharge and commercial pricing formula are still pending, so a continuous mural currently requires a special production quote before release.

You can begin with DBS Panoramas, DBS Inspirations, your own uploaded image, Create with AI, or Solid Colors. Solid Colors also includes custom colors, gradients, and Soft Frost.

Match Original Closely asks the Studio to keep a DBS Inspiration recognizable in subject, composition, palette, medium, and characteristic scenery while extending it to fit your measured arrangement.

Creative Interpretation gives you more freedom to change style or color while still carrying the source artwork's defining motifs through the full panorama.

Generate New Image creates a new panoramic interpretation inspired by your uploaded photo. Expand & Create builds compatible scenery around the uploaded subject so it can fit a wider or taller composition without simply stretching the original.

Both use AI, so faces, hands, lettering, and fine details should always be reviewed carefully.

The current Roller Shade Studio accepts JPG, PNG, and WebP image files up to 25 MB for customer uploads. The original remains available as the reference while you create or expand a design.

The current AI styles are Photographic, Stained Glass, Watercolor, Oil Painting, Fantasy, Illustration, and Line Drawing. The same seven style names are used in the Blind and Window Film Studios for a consistent experience.

The current color treatments are Natural, Vibrant, Pastel, Earth Tones, and Duotone. Duotone lets you choose your own two colors or use a preset pair such as Navy & Gold, Teal & Coral, Plum & Blush, or Forest & Sand.

No. Those are instant design treatments and do not require an AI generation. You can still combine them with text, room colors, motion, downloads, and preview tools.

The current Roller Shade artwork workflow provides about 25% extra width for positioning. That gives you room to move the composition left or right and choose the best crop without running out of artwork at the edge of the measured shades.

Yes. DBS Panoramas, Create with AI, and Solid Colors currently support layouts through 8:1. DBS Inspirations and Customer Uploads use a tighter 3:1 reference-based limit.

The complete ratio includes every shade width plus every space between shades and compares that full width with the tallest shade.

Yes. You can add up to six independent text blocks. Each block has its own wording, font, size, color, position, bold setting, contrast outline, and exterior-reading reversal.

The current Studio includes sixteen fonts, and the font picker previews the appearance beside each name. The same font set is shared with the Blind and Window Film Studios.

Yes. Use the exterior-reading reversal option for an individual text block when you want that message to read normally from the opposite side. The intended artwork viewing side is also recorded separately as Room Side or Window Side printing.

No. They are visualization tools only. Room Colors help you compare the design against different wall and trim colors, and Room Brightness helps you compare lighting conditions. Neither setting recolors the production artwork.

The current Roller Shade AR experience is a visual placement tool. You can place the shade over a sample room, a photo from your device, or a live camera view, and you can drag, resize, raise, or use four-corner perspective placement.

It does not yet detect, track, or calibrate to the real window, so it should not be used to verify measurements or fit.

Yes. My Designs currently saves multiple editable Roller Shade selections in this browser and device. You can reopen, rename, duplicate, delete, Save Changes, or Save as New.

Cross-device signed-in saving is planned later; it is not yet the same account-backed system used by the current Blind and Window Film Studios.

The current Insolroll production profile targets a minimum of 150 PPI at the final production canvas size for raster artwork. The Studio retains the highest-resolution practical source and calculates the production canvas from the finished shade plus the working bleed and leader allowances.

The current supplier specification uses CMYK. Raster/photo artwork is prepared from the highest-resolution practical source; Photoshop-created PDF is preferred for raster work, PSD is also accepted, and vector formats such as AI, EPS, SVG, and scalable PDF can be supported.

Yes, white ink capability is confirmed. The exact responsibility for creating the white underbase or spot-white separation is still being finalized, so the Studio records it for supplier review rather than asking the customer to build a white-ink channel.

Yes. The intended workflow uses two approvals: first a DBS design proof covering measurements, sequence, spacing, crop, fabric, operator, print side, text, mount, and acknowledgements; then the manufacturer proof from Insolroll before production release.

The current supplier information includes a $100 pre-print / prepress charge per order, and that charge currently includes two JPG print proofs. Final retail pricing and how that supplier cost is presented to the customer are still being finalized.

You choose the intended primary viewing side. Room Side printing is for artwork that should read correctly from inside the room; Window Side printing is for artwork that should read correctly from outside the building.

On open-weave materials, the reverse side may show a reversed version of the image.

Tinted glass can change the apparent color and contrast of printed artwork, and an existing insect/window screen can visually interact with a Solar Screen shade. The Studio records both conditions so they can be considered during design and production review.

Not yet. The Roller Shade Studio is currently a design and production-integration preview. Final fabric confirmation, commercial proofing, pricing, freight, payment, and supplier release still need to be completed before live ordering is enabled.

The current supplier guidance is approximately 10 manufacturing days for printed shades, excluding shipping time. Final customer delivery estimates will also need to include proof approval, production review, freight method, shade size, quantity, and destination.

Yes. Direct drop shipping is a confirmed supplier capability. Private-label or neutral-packing details are still being finalized, so Designs By Spirit does not yet promise specific shipment branding.

Freight is separate and depends on shade size and quantity. A final customer freight formula has not yet been integrated, so shipping is confirmed during the commercial/order stage rather than estimated from an unsupported assumption.

Installation assistance is part of the planned customer workflow. Designs By Spirit does not plan to perform every installation directly; the long-term approach is customer self-installation where appropriate plus optional referral to an independent local professional.

Supplier installer-referral resources are still being researched.

The final customer warranty will be added once the selected printable fabric, hardware, motor, and custom-print warranty terms are confirmed in writing for the launch configuration. We do not want to publish a warranty period before the supplier-specific terms are complete.

Final cleaning and care instructions will follow the selected fabric and print system. Until the supplier confirms the launch fabric's printed-care instructions, Designs By Spirit will avoid giving a generic cleaning method that might be wrong for a specific material.

Yes. Window film orders include free shipping and handling within the U.S. Your checkout shows shipping and handling as Free ($0.00).

The separately listed $50 file-preparation fee is for preparing your custom artwork for production. It is separate from shipping and handling. Applicable sales tax is shown before payment.

Please allow 2 to 3 weeks for delivery after payment is completed and your final electronic proof is approved, unless a different estimate is disclosed before payment. This estimate includes production and shipping transit time.

Designs By Spirit™ custom window film is produced on premium 2 mil optically clear polyester film with a scratch-resistant surface coating and a permanent optically clear acrylic adhesive. The adhesive contains UV-blocking additives designed to help protect the printed image.

2 mil refers to the thickness of the polyester film itself—approximately 0.002 inch. The result is a thin professional window covering that applies directly to the glass without significantly changing the profile of the window.

Our triple-pass printing process uses three printed layers—color, white and color—to create a richer, more vibrant image with strong color density that can be viewed from both sides of the glass.

Yes. Triple-pass printing is designed to create a full-color appearance that can be enjoyed from both sides of the glass. Text and other directional artwork should be reviewed carefully because orientation changes when the design is viewed from the opposite side.

Opacity determines how much you can see through your finished window film. Lower opacity allows more natural light and visibility through the window, while higher opacity provides greater visual separation and privacy.

Opacity also affects the way sunlight, color and the printed design interact. Because it has an important effect on the finished appearance, Designs By Spirit™ asks you to choose an opacity when creating your window film.

No. Designs By Spirit™ custom window film is intended to combine printed imagery, natural light and varying levels of privacy. It should not be considered a blackout window covering unless a specific product configuration is expressly designated for that purpose.

Our standard window film is intended for installation on smooth, flat, vertical interior glass surfaces unless otherwise specified.

Our standard Designs By Spirit™ window film offering is intended for interior application. Exterior installations may require a different film or production specification and should not be assumed to be covered by the standard product warranty.

Measure the actual visible glass area inside the window frame rather than the outside dimensions of the frame itself. For windows containing multiple panes, measure each individual glass section.

The Designs By Spirit™ Studio can create a design for a single pane or coordinate a design across multiple adjoining windows while maintaining the measurements of each section.

Designs By Spirit™ window film is considered semi-permanent. It is designed to remain securely installed for long-term use but may be removed and replaced when you wish to update your décor or design.

Yes. Designs By Spirit™ recommends professional installation, particularly for large windows, photographic designs and multi-window arrangements. Window film installation requires careful cleaning, positioning, trimming and squeegeeing to achieve the best finished appearance.

Designs By Spirit™ window film uses a wet-application installation method. The glass should first be cleaned extremely thoroughly because proper glass preparation is one of the most important steps in achieving a professional installation.

A typical application solution consists of approximately 32 ounces of warm distilled water with approximately three drops of mild dishwashing liquid. The glass and adhesive side of the film are lightly wetted so the film can be positioned, then a soft squeegee is worked from the center outward to remove application fluid and trapped air. Excess film is carefully trimmed and the edges are dried.

Yes. Application fluid should not be allowed to remain unnecessarily on the printed surface. If moisture reaches the printed side during installation, it should be gently removed with a soft squeegee as soon as reasonably possible. Avoid aggressive scraping or abrasive tools on the printed surface.

The film should generally be installed at an application temperature of approximately 40°F or higher.

Small moisture pockets or a slightly cloudy appearance can sometimes be visible immediately following installation. This does not necessarily indicate an installation problem. Moisture remaining between the glass and film gradually evaporates as the installation cures.

Depending on temperature and environmental conditions, complete dry-out may take up to approximately 30 days.

Allow approximately 30 days after installation before cleaning the film. This gives the adhesive sufficient time to cure.

Use a soft, clean cloth with a mild solution of dishwashing soap and water. For the greatest protection of the printed surface, apply the cleaning solution to the cloth rather than spraying it directly onto the window film. Gently wipe the surface and dry it with another soft, clean cloth.

No. Avoid Windex, ammonia-based window cleaners, harsh chemicals and aggressive cleaning products. These products may affect the printed surface or attack the adhesive around the edges of the film, potentially contributing to lifting or delamination.

No. Do not use abrasive sponges, scouring pads, bristle brushes, razor blades or other abrasive materials on the installed film. Use only soft, clean materials when washing or drying the surface.

Our 2 mil triple-pass window film carries a five-year limited material warranty from the date of printing when properly applied to a flat, vertical interior glass surface and maintained according to the recommended care instructions. Complete warranty terms, limitations and exclusions apply.

Subject to the complete warranty terms, covered material failures may include adhesive failure, bubbling, cracking, delamination and discoloration.

Warranty exclusions may include improper installation, third-party installation workmanship, improper cleaning or maintenance, misuse, abuse, neglect, improper storage or handling, vandalism, glass breakage and physical damage.

The limited material warranty does not cover ink-performance failures such as fading, ink cracking, peeling, scratching or other ink-related issues. Please refer to the complete Designs By Spirit™ Window Film Warranty for specific coverage, limitations and remedies.

The film adhesive contains UV-blocking additives intended to help increase the lifespan of the printed image. Designs By Spirit™ window film should not be represented as a dedicated UV-protection or solar-control product unless a specific UV-rejection rating is provided for that application.

Yes. The Designs By Spirit™ Studio allows a single image or design to extend across multiple adjoining windows, creating a continuous panoramic appearance while respecting the individual measurements of each glass section.

Yes. You can choose from Designs By Spirit™ Inspirations, upload your own image, or create an original design using available Studio tools. The Designs By Spirit™ Studio also provides digital and augmented-reality preview options so you can visualize the design in your own windows before production.
